PROBLEM:
The city was faced with structurally defiicient manholes and was in need of a long-term, proven solution. Extreme infiltration was present throughout the 15 manhole structures, which was costing the client significantly in the form of treatment costs.
SOLUTION:
Due to the proven track record and fast return-to-service characteristics, SprayWall was selected by the city for this structural rehabilitation project. Engineered Spray Solutions prepared to tackle the worst of the worst structures which were in the scope of this project and work effectively and efficiently to coordinate MOT and Bypass services with the city. The structures were inspected, cleaned and prepared to restore the proper surface profile. From there, a custom designed lining thickness was constructed and applied to the host structure solving the infiltration, structural and corrosion issues.
RESULT:
A 50-year design protocol along with infiltration control was delivered to the city thereby greatly reducing their treatment and operational costs. The work was completed over a period of approximately 3 weeks saving the client 6-9 months of construction time and $434,000 compared to a remove and replace approach.
